Real-world laboratory for Automated Bus operation in public transport in urban and rural areas

RABus partners unveil autonomous project shuttle in Friedrichshafen

Technology Day on Saturday, April 27 in Friedrichshafen

Friedrichshafen, 1 p.m., bright sunshine: everything is set up, the consortium partners are ready, the invited guests arrive and the visitors walk around the shuttle wrapped in a black cloth.

Then it starts, the first mayor of the city of Friedrichshafen, Fabian Müller, opens the event and points out the pioneering spirit of the Lake Constance region. Marcel Zembrot from the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Transport emphasised the benefits of public events such as the Technology Day to increase acceptance of automated driving. Magdalena Linnig, Managing Director of Stadtverkehr Friedrichshafen, described her vision of autonomous buses on Lake Constance. Werner Engl from ZF rounded off the introduction with information about the shuttle.

The four then unveiled the shuttle and the day of technology could begin. Whether the wheel of fortune at the SVF, the control centre of the future from ZF and RAB or our joint stand with the KIT on scientific issues - everything was very well received and we had exciting conversations.

Thank you for having us, Friedrichshafen!

PS: If you have any questions, we are still at the Landesgartenschau at Treffpunkt Baden-Württemberg until Sunday (with the exception of 1 & 4 May)
